SR22 Model 3617.

Borrowed a friends 3600 to bring my adult daughters to the range for their 1st outing. I had that, a ruger 380, an XDS .45c and a 1911. They loved the Sr22 the best so I bought this: haven't had time to shoot it yet. Bag has been packed.

Fun guns. I like having a hammer. I carry mine a lot in the timber. I got an $8.00 nylon paint ball gun holster that carries a spare mag as well. Works great for my use.

I can't tell from the picture that its any different. What's different about this model?

I have several friends that have them and none of them look like that gun. None of them have that Ruger billboard nor that color on the slide.

This one is a model 3617. All the SR22's are 3600 series. The last 2 digits represent the type/color/material of slide. This one is called "Burnt Bronze". It is cerakote.

They are identical other than the slides. I was really looking for the 3600, and luckily (for me), the Davidsons rep had come by the Pawn shop I order all my guns from and he took it. It was the only 1 the rep had. So I scooped it up.

Nort even listed on Rugers site, but I notice Davidsons has them now, so "rare", I'm not to sure. But it's the only 1 I've seen live, and my friends and co-workers are all envious!!! :mrgreen:

(The billboard doesn't bother me)........... :wink:
