New guy with an old, but not ancient Ruger Ranch Rifle .223

Hi, I have few Ruger pistols, but just recently inherited a Ruger Ranch Rifle .223. I'm looking to aquire a couple of good 20 round magazines. My quick research is showing Mini-14s and .223/5.56 magazines. I'm not sure these will work in this rifle, as it is designed fir only .223 ammo, though 5.56 will fit, but the extra grains of gun powder makes it a bit dangerous, from my readings. Thanks!

The magazines should fit. Either round will fit into the magazine. It's up to you to insert .223 only.

Not so. Ruger made the rifle from the beginning to use either round.

Also the Thermold plastic mags work pretty well or buy some factory mags.
