My brand new Super Blackhawk .44 Mag arrived the other day.
I gave it a deep clean and inspection.
This is probably the best revolver I have purchased as far as specs go.
Blueing is nice and deep and grip fit is good.
Muzzle crown is cut nice & even.
Maybe .001 end play, maybe.
Lock up is tight and timing good.
B/C gap is a very tight at .006
I can detect no barrel constriction.
All cylinders measure the same at .4315 with calipers and then checked with micrometer, I do not have pin gauges yet. Rifling is cut crisp.
Trigger feels pretty good with just a touch of creep.
Can't wait to be able to shoot.
I have already loaded up some 200 grain cast with:
10gr. Unique
9, 9.5 and 10gr. BE-86

Oh my, that is a nice one. It's good to see that Ruger still can get it right. I had a similar experience on my 2015 Single-six, I was astounded at how good the blue finish was on mine. Will look forward to your range report after you shoot your Super Blackhawk.

Gee,, wonder where all the whiners are who say Ruger puts out junk?

Ok, being serious here. Great looking gun and by all appearances,, well built. Ruger does produce a ton of really nice & well built guns. But all too often we here more of the negative stuff, than the positive. Good to see a very positive post!

I noticed a couple of new Super Blackhawks with square trigger guards this weekend at the two gun shows I went to. I wasn't aware they were making them like that again.

Strictly my opinion but NOTHING looks as good on that frame as a massive unfluted cylinder. Beautiful lines & a classic look that never goes out of style and is hard to improve upon. Kinda like a '55 Chevy or a '32 Ford in the gun world. I'll get one like it some day. Glad yours is so tight.

That's a great looking new Ruger. It speaks well of current production. If it shoots as good as it looks, you'll be a happy camper.

Shot my new Super Blackhawk today.
First time out.
Shot decent, shows promise.
Got some stubborn leading at and just pass the forcing cone.
So after taking an hour to get the lead out thoroughly, I decided to recut the FC to 11 degree.
After cutting I lapped the new cut.
I think I cut deep enough, didn't want to go to far.
