Alan Harton (Single Action Service) Custom Colt New Frontier Number 5 in 44 Special
Alan's work includes:
Cut and crown Barrel to 5.5"
Install Bowen front sight and cut in the TLA style
Recut cylinder flutes to older, wider colt style
Blackpowder chamfer on cylinder
Cut and weld Italian Bisley Backstrap (top) to Colt factory backstrap (bottom) (invoice says "lengthened" but I don't remember lengthening anything)
Weld up frame and recut to match Bisley backstrap
Welded Italian Bisley hammer spur to Colt hammer bottom end
Provided material and made custom maple grips
Opened colt trigger guard for wide trigger
Cut out and rewelded Italian wide trigger sear surface to have known sear material performance
Action tuning as needed
Color Case hammer/frame and reblue balance
Alan's invoice in 2016 dollars was $2240, and that didn't include the Bowen front sight ($35) or Italian SA ($120) parts.
$3500 Shipped from my FFL to yours.
Willing to work out a payment plan if you need it.
Note that one cylinder notch has a scratch from someone unfamiliar with an original SAA action dropping the hammer from half cock. Shown in picture.
