Grip ID

[HW11]

these were on a 3 screw 357 a friend of mine received when a family member passed away. I don't remember ever seeing any like this. Can anyone ID them.

The company name escapes me but fairly common I think.

Franzite made some but I don't think theirs had that wood backers.

From memory they look like Jay Scotts.

Those are Jay Scott. The white printing & "61" on the back are the good clues.

I actually have the box they would have come in… bought a vintage pair of Ruger take offs (EBay) and they showed up in the Jay Scott box.

Yep, they are Jay Scott grips, as said the "61" and the writing is how JS marked them. You can also see the XR3 notation and the calibers.

I could read the RX3 but I couldn't figure out what the first line said. I'll pass this info on to my friend. For some reason he didn't really like them and took them off. I think he told me he had what was probably the original grips with the gun also.
