Oh H*ll no.

My SBH 44 is my most favorite gun to shoot, but ammo is so expensive that I only take it out a couple of times a year. I usually bring 50 rounds and shoot them all. If the palm of my hand isn't bruised by the time I'm out of ammo, I'm quite disappointed.

Of course I shoot all the other guns I brought before I break out "the beast".
You could always get .44 special ammo.

I have no aversion to recoil, but also get no thrill from it. I do not wear gloves to shoot.

I use this glove. It has gel padding in the palm.

I use baseball batting gloves when repeating certain reloading tasks. Seems like they'd be fine for what you describe as well. They're light and thin but provide some protection. Golf gloves are similar but rarely come in pairs since golfers generally only wear one.
