Looks like powder residue from the barrel ports.

Looks like a great deal for a big bore that's probably been line-bored and built to lock up as tight as a Freedom Arms.

Granted I'm not a "single action guy" but my Lord, I'd hope that's better looking in person than what the picture shows. It's hideous.

Reeder's stuff is usually "over the top bling" to cater to the more "artistic" gun person...
