Has anyone else noticed the color inconsistencies in the Light Weight frames in the LW 9mm "Commanders"?
The go from light gray all the way to black.
Here are two, only about 10,000 apart by ser. no. Both are the same model number.
Just struck me as odd. And...does that mean a collector should have both frame colors?

I too have noticed this and have had the same question as to why. I myself an not a fan of two tone pistols and prefer the look of the lighter colored frames similar to the one you posted, it almost resembles stainless.

What was that ol single shot pistol that Ruger made long ago? And some of those had those flaws that looked like lightning bolts. And IMO, the more lightnin bolts the higher $$$. I just cant fathom the Ruger 1911 having widespread collector status 50 years from now. But the man who taught me lots on gun tradn told me he remembered 2 stacks of Hawkeye's at Astro Hall gun show and nobody wanted them. 🙄🙄
