Appears Ruger has at least two and possibly three models with folding stock available thru distributor exclusives...

I picked up a used Model 1296 a couple of years ago:

The folding stock was surprisingly nice: easy to use, comfortable, and locked up tight. But I bought it as a light-weight project, so the factory folder, handguard, and muzzle device came off and got stored. If anybody might be interested in them, let me know!

They have those in stock at Palmetto Armory for $699 and free shipping . I have thought about taking one of my present 10/22s and installing that folder on it in the past . But too add the peep sight , flash suppressor and the folder from Shopruger it actually more money 💰. So In my opinion it's a deal 👍

I have the Samson B-TM Folding Stock. It locks up tight. Its waiting for me to finish the project. I bought one when they first came out was under $250 then now, I see they are in the $265 to $285 range.

Those 2 RUGER MODEL NUMBER: 31184 & 31185 for ~$700 area deal, for what you get. But be-careful adding a few custom attachments here & there….

I built one a few years back, Samson Stock / BarrelBand, better sights (Nodak Spud), Cut and threaded barrel to 16.1" w/ custom 3 finger flash suppressor, Large Op Handle, Magpul front & rear QD sling attachment w/ Magpul Sling, Franklin Binary Trigger, 4 BX25 mags.

While it is mine and very custom,,, a few dollars here & there and it ended up ~$1400.…😳 I really had no idea till it was done.
It is definitely my most fun 10/22 to shoot and burns thru the CCI MiniMags without a hick-up.

That model 31184 looks SWEET! And, for the $699 price you probably couldn't build a similar version for that...But, how's the 12.5" LOP on that Sampson stock feel for those over 6 feet tall?

I purchased the 31184 model and really like it. Retail is $699, but the local LGS had one for $619.

Curious on this one, it is an old one made in Conn. Had it a very long time and never seen another one like it. Seems to be factory original. I wasn't sure if it was some type of a trainer. When I first saw it I shocked it wasn't a .30 cal, it is a very old 10/22.

Before the covid hit I was at gun shows and auctions looking for a "shooter " 10/22 to be a donor to install in a Samson folder . Then all the shows got suddenly cancelled and I sort of lost interest .I have 10/22s , but I really didn't care to use them for a build .😉

If it's for sale , it's probably a good investment .👍
Not looking to sell. Part of the collection that fits in that "oddity" category. I was just curious if anyone had seen one. I have several WWII .30 but had never seen a 10/22 like this one. It looks factory original.

I am confused , it's your gun now ?
Yes, I've had it for years. It is a 10/22 carbine. Though Ruger does not show this serial number it does show some close made around 1988. It states that some of the serial numbers might not be listed because they were special models or projects. Now it just has me more curious.
