I was looking at my 1981 Beretta 92S. It NIB. My question is there is small bright red paint mark on the top of the extractor. The only time it would be seen is if there is a cartridge in the chamber and the extractor is engaged. It doesn't look accidental. Is this a loaded chamber indicator?

You are correct. I think that in darkness, you can slide your finger over it and feel that it is sticking up.
