Loaded these today & drop the hammer on them tomorrow. The load on the left is my plinker, the Saeco/Redding 015 & 10 grains of Unique. On right the DC 460-430-FNGC with 27 grains of 5744.

Just a wild guess..you cast them yourself ? LOL. What'cha gonna shoot'em outta ? My hots for a levergun led me to a M1894 in .44 due to wanting to shoot SASS and for hunting use. Its a possible that Ohio may at some time in the future OK pistol caliber centerfires for deer. Otherwise, if only for deer hunting in Pa, I would have got a M1895. stevemb

I'll shoot them out of a reproduction 74 Sharps.

Did cast them myself. The DC 460-430-FNGC & 460-305-FP.
The bullets

I don't have a picture of the 430s but here is one of the 305s.

Thanks Buck. This rifle has always worked great but today it fired only twice & misfired 3 times. Looks like very lite strikes.

yep that 300 gr bullet and 10 grains of Unique makes for a great accurate round and cheap to shoot.
I also have a few 45-70s. Don't know how you could get light hits with a Sharps. I think the main spring came off 1957 Chevy

LAH what is the BHN of those bullets you are using in your 45-70? Thanks.

The 300s are about 10-12 & the 420s are 14-15.

What velocity do you get with 10 grains of unique? And you must use a filler of some kind, right?

No filler. I haven't shot those over the chrony but a bunch of people shoot this load so maybe someone will chime in.
