22Lr groups with peep sights for us older men0

with a peep sight what kind of groups are you guys shooting
at 20 yards ? What front sight are you using? May as well mention what peep sight too.I want to squirrel hunt this year with sights no scope.I shot a couple days ago and 5 shot group 4 were touching snd #5 was real close to touching those. Thatscwhat i want at 30 yards. Asking to much i guess.

Headshot on a squirrel is about the size of a quarter(or a bit less). Keep in mind that shooting from a field position at an elevated target will likely not produce groups equal to shooting from a rest on a bench and visibility may not be as good in the woods.
I know the mechanical accuracy of my 77/22 and I practice from shooting sticks for a couple weeks before hunting season. Field position accuracy produces groups about 2x the mechanical accuracy.

I use the Williams Fire site set, red fiber optic front sight , Williams peep rear sight , which I normally remove the peep insert and use as a ghost ring, does not change my accuracy over leaving the peep insert in but does help my field of view.
