It seems that Ruger is simultaneously making guns with the 0015- and 0016- prefix. So, since they are doing that, it would make sense that Ruger may have two different manufacturing facilities now making the 10/22.
The Newport barrel rollmark has been used for quite a while now, but has anybody noticed a different address on the barrel? Mayodan?

Just checked two of mine that are consecutively numbered Talo special runs.
One is 0015-36055 the other 0016-36056, both made in Newport.
I wonder if there is a 0015-36056 and a 0016-36055 around ?

Yes, 0015-36056 and 0016-36055 have been both been made. One is a red laminate like the two noted and the other is a standard RB birch carbine.
Makes me wonder if Ruger got two serial numbering machines so they can pump 10/22's out faster. Maybe one serial numbering machine was a logjam in the process so they got another one. Or.... Since the 10/22 seems to be the only model using a serial numbering machine instead of a laser, perhaps Ruger moved the 2nd serial numbering machine to Newport to boost production if needed.
I think Number One Rifles still have their serial number put on with a stamping head. Might be the only one left though except for the 10/22.
I think Ruger has to continue using a sn'ing head for the 10/22 because once the coating is put on it, the sn would be gone.
