Several months ago I was shooting a SR1911 & SR1911CMD at the range. A younger couple came over and started asking questions about them; did my best to answer their questions and let them shoot a couple mags thru each.
Haven't seen them for awhile, basically slipped my mind until yesterday.
They were at the range when I got there. Told me they liked both my Rugers and found SR1911 in a pawn shop. They let me have a look at their new gun and I saw it was a bit different than mine. All the black parts were replaced with stainless to match the gun, and the warning on underside of frame removed. They didn't know if anything inside the gun was changed or not.
Told me it hasn't given them any trouble at all with every brand of ammo they had. They did enjoy shooting it a great deal except for having to share, wait their turn to use it; at least until they can find another.
