I'll make one in the wild guess category;

Assume there were 35,000 No.3's made; difficult to know because of being numbered in No.1 range at the end.
45/70 @ 40%= 14,000
22 Hornet @ 20% = 7,000
223 @15% = 5,300
30/40 Krag @ 10% = 3,500
375 Winchester @ 10%= 3,500
44 Mag @ 5% = 1700
Total = 35,000
If I had to shade it from this guess, I would go for more 45/70 and Hornets and fewer 44's and 375's.

That sounds reasonable Lee.
I was wondering if there weren't more 223s than Hornets, but given the much longer production period for the Hornets, it makes sense that there would be more of them.

It's too bad Ruger muddied the waters by numbering the No. 3 with the No. 1 halfway through it's production life.

To me I find the Ruger No.3 in the 45/70, 30/40 & 223 not common but they show up.
Seldom do I see the 375 Win.
Still looking for a nice 22 Hornet that has not been punched out to a K-Hornet.
Took me close to 18 years to find a 44 NIB.
And there is one in 30-06 Factory gun. I don't own it but have handled it a few years back.
