Which OTHER 1911 are you getting this year???

Kahr makes the Auto-Ordnance guns in New York. They are CNC- milled and small parts are reportedly contracted to S&W same as Kimber?

Another very nice 1911 I've recently handled is the Magnum Research. 100% made in Israel by IMI. Yup, the UZI makers for several decades.

Thanks, Mojavesam! I'm considering getting an Auto Ord parkerized 1911A1. It seems to me to be the closest to a GI .45 that's made in USA, and the price is pretty good. I used to visit the old Auto Ordnance plant in West Hurley, New York when I visited Numrich's to find parts. Wish I'd bought a .45 then!
