I was cruising the local shops and found a consignment revolver in the display case.

It was a S&W Model 544 revolver chambered in .44-40. It had a 5" barrel and was a commemorative 150 year Texas Cattle drive gun with a wooden display case. This is the first time I ever saw an N frame Smith in this chambering. Made my day. $850 was the asking price I believe.

If I was there, that 44-40 S&W Mdl 544 would be gone,
pending a thorough inspection.

Great Revolver, Great Caliber, easy to Reload for, just
a nice Revolver,

The Best to you and your Endeavors.

Yes, they are good looking, well balanced and uncommon.
That sounds like a good price. Did you get it?
I really like the stocks on mine.
