I have an "old" Vaquero in 45 Colt.

I am being offered a 45 acp cylinder from a circa-2005 Blackhawk. Can this be installed as is or will fitting by a gunsmith be required?

Thanks.

Measure the overall length of your cyl and compare that to the new cyl. You want one at least as long as yours so you can fit to your frame. If too short, it's a lot more difficult.

That's usually the only issue. Timing correctly is very seldom an issue.

I bought a Blackhawk 45 ACP cylinder for my 45 Colt Vaquero several years ago and fitted the cylinder in the Vaquero frame in about 10 minutes. Believe it or not, the 45 ACP cylinder is much more accurate than the Colt cylinder using lead bullets. I'd say ''go for it''.
