Please help me out, I am confused. That "3 digit model" was made in 1971 according to information on Ruger's web site. How is it worth more than a Bearcat made in say...1963? A Bearcat manufactured in 1963 would have a 5 digit number, but without the 2 digit prefix (90- or 91-) like this 1971...
I saw one at a local gun shop yesterday that was not for sale. It is almost the same size and weight of the FN. The trigger had a little creep but broke clean. The grip was just a bit slimmer than the FN. They said the price was going to be right around $650.
I have recently been growing more and more infatuated with any revolver that has the Bisley grip frame, a single six being my most recent acquisition. So I was wondering, what was the first Ruger Bisley revolver produced and when did it happen? If anyone has any other interesting Bisley...
Thanks hittman, I wasn't bright enough to check the obvious! Yep that Davidson's exclusive looks like the gun. I didn't realize they were still in production since you see so few 41 mags anymore. Does anyone know about how many guns are produced when one of these "exclusives" are produced????
I recently ran across a short barreled Redhawk in 41 mag. I checked the barrel length with a yardstick and it looked to be 4 1/4" and I wondered if the barrel hand been cut down. I checked the Blue Book and it said some 4.2 inch Redhawks had been produced, but it wasn't clear that 41 mags had...
Thanks chet15, I appreciate the feedback. I get a feeling that those Bisleys must be uncommon since nobody else has an opinion as to the value. Anyone else agree with chet15 or have another opinion?
I have done the Google checks on this already but the most recent information I am finding is from 2012. I saw a Single Six Bisley with the adjustable sight, unfluted but engraved cylinder, 6.5" barrel, all blued. The asking price is $425 and the only real wear is on the end of the ejector...
I work at a gun store and recently we had a BX-25 magazine that wouldn't fit in any 10/22 or RAR we had on the shelf, it was too wide. It might not be just the gun, it might be the magazine also. I think that it is Ruger's intention to have all of the magazines fit or they wouldn't have...
That CZ looks sweet, but I was wondering why the Remington 597 doesn't impress you? I have a 597 with a heavy barrel and a laminated stock and it easily shoots sub one inch groups at 100 yards. I was just curious why you don't like it?
There is a 28 gauge Red Label available locally. Does anyone have any idea how many were produced (how rare they are) and the relative value of one? Any and all input is appreciated! Thanks!!
