I have had problems with loose screws after I bought mine. I don’t have a scope on mounted but I snugged up the mounting screws as they were coming loose. What is the load you are using? Also, use a straight edge off the top strap and check to make sure the barrel is threaded square to the frame.

My Speer Reloading Manual #14 has a load. The starting charge for a 150 gr. GS SP with Varget is 43.0 grains. The maximum charge is 47.0 which is listed as a compressed load. Velocity is listed as 2632 fps and 2856 fps respectively out of a Remington 700 with a 22" barrel.
