    Mini 14 and Accuracy

Mine is a series 185 with an added strut and Tech sights. With 68gr Hornady bullets it will shoot to about 2" at 100 yards. It doesn't like 55 gr bullets at all.

    MINI 14 Magazines

I bought a series 180 somewhere around 1974. It came with a 5 rd magazine but the shop had straight sided 20 rd magaznes that they sold to LEOs but allowed me buy some since I worked at the shop part time. Even back then Ruger was trying to limit access to their magazines greater than 5 rounds.

Received a Mini Today - idiot alert (me) see last message

the equivalent of $739 today. They were close to the same cost as now. I traded a Colt .38 pocket automatic for mine about the same time.

    Mini 14 strut

The strut helped my series 185 along with the weight of the combo muzzle brake/front sight device. It shoots the 10 ring with good ammo. Better than the 6" groups previously.

    New 6.5x55 African?

The 6.5x55 is Thor's hammer on the moose population in Norway, Sweden, and Finland. It's no second rate cartridge by any means.

    MINI 14 Magazines

OE brand magazines work just fine in my series 185 Mini 14. Can't speak to the newer versions.

Range Day, Fine tuning a .357 Blackhawk and Winchester 94

Nice firearms. Seems funny to me to see a 1972 model 94 referred to as 'old'. That was the year I graduated high school...oh, that was 44 years ago. Guess it is old!

    Old model Vaquero chamber issue

I traded into an OM Vaquero in .357. Took it to the range today for the first time. My .357 loads that are admittedly a bit warm were very difficult to extract after fired. The fired cases come out without a struggle in my 686 but it is a different story in this Vaquero. Some of the cases...

    factory letter

So, what information do you get on a Ruger factory letter? I received a factory letter from S&W about 5-6 years ago for a Heavy Duty .38-44. It told the original configuration and what shop it was sold to. Is this what the Ruger letter gives?

    Waffen Frankonia Wuerzburg

I can't comment of the value of the firearm in question but I used to shop at the named store when I was stationed near Wurzburg with the Army 78-81. It is (or was) an upscale hunting and fishing store of some size and excellent reputation. They sold nice sporting arms and some excellent to...

Magazine Supplier for Gunsite Scout in .223/5.56?

The AI .223 magazines work fine. I just added the PTG trigger guard/magazine well assembly to my .223 Scout. Installation was very easy, just used a nylon hammer to tap it into the stock, nice tight fit. The AI magazines are a bit loose in the PTG assembly so I wrapped a single layer of...
