    Cleaning Magazines

I frequently clean and lube my pistol magazines. This is because I compete in IDPA style matches held at my gun club where the magazines are constantly being dropped onto dusty gravel. This keeps the magazines running free and prevents grit from working its way into the pistol's action.

    Old Ruger adds

The year of that ad should have read 1961, not 1951. That was a typo which I have since corrected. Good catch!

Why You Should Carry a Knife Instead of a Gun for Self-Defense

I have been relating this story for years, six bullets bouncing off Superman's chest but he ducks when they throw the empty gun at him. Thanks for posting the video proof!

What are you paying for primers ??

I have not shopped for primers and powder for well over 2 years. Mainly because there was never, ever anything on the shelves. Thankfully, I had a pretty good stock on hand. I was surprised when I stopped at my local Cabela's a few days ago to see their primer and powder shelves fully stocked...

Started the favorite full size semi automatic over 2 years ago. Let’s talk about what you actually carry.

    A Different Hawkeye

While waiting in line in the school parking lot to pick up his daughter after school, my son noticed this large hawk perched atop the cross on top of the adjoining church’s steeple. The hawk was staring down at the young children as they filed out of the school, a rather eerie sight...

    I love glenfield 60's

I bought my Glenfield Model 60 at K-Mart back in 1976 for $39.00. I prefer to shoot using open sights rather than a scope and the comb on the Monte Carlo stock wouldn’t let me get my cheek low enough to properly acquire the iron sights. Accordingly, I shaved the comb off of the stock and...

Runaway Dogs Take It To A New Level

My little rascal ex-puppy, Peanut (now my son’s nemesis), driving his SUV after commandeering it for a joy ride. At least she invited their other dog, Snickers (hanging out of the window), to go along too. Although, knowing Peanut, that was probably only to share in the blame.
