The smoothness of the action is lacking..
I had an opportunity to cycle a mark II and it was like silk....
It was suggested that perhaps the spring is stronger on the Mark III then on the mark II thus causing a higher resistence when pulling the bolt back manually...
ANY other ideas...
amazing that for the lack of a 3 dollar part properly made.. ruger would have (to a large degree) FIXED their developing reputation for stove piping.
I have had perhaps on pipe since installed... and I suspect that was a seating issue for the new extractor as it happened in the first mag of...
changed out the extractor....
with 300 rounds thru it i have had 2 pipes...
interesting... need to push another 500-600 rounds thru it before i am convinced
the metal protion of the lci i am considering removing as long as the remaining plastic piece does not "over rotate" and interrupt loading
by removing the metal tab.. at least two folks have posted that the plastic indicator over rotates back and causes real problems with the bolt..
I have found only two folks who removed the metal indicate this...
One removed the plastic as well to resolve
the other put the metal back in.....
Not too much overload.. But I did indicate what they Said to me...
Your explanation makes it very clear...
I suspect it is a cheap ammo problem I am having.. But this was not meant for competitive work..
My main purpose was to scare the gators, snakes and raccoons..
I display the gun...
Ya I asked what that meant when they said that is what they did...
They suggested to me that the bore at the chamber might have been a bit to tight... and hence they made it slightly bigger to assist in the "loading of new rounds and perhaps the removal of old rounds...
Not a satisfactory...
getting ammo of any type continues to be a challenge...
That said... I scored 6 (MOST THEY WOULD SELL ME) 550 packs of federal at Wally World this am... It has worked in this mark three with only one ftf and ONE stove pipe.. since the repair...
Wally in our town received one case of 550...
Having researched the pistol before purchasing.. I expected it would shoot whatever you feed it...
Since they returned it after "repair" and my conversation with them... I have put about 500 rounds thru it PROBLEM FREE...
And the ammo was a type they "DO NOT RECOMMEND"
I suspect like...
DONT use winchester wildcat
dont use winchester xpert
dont use remington golden
dont use remington thunderbolt
dont use non us ammo
So when asking what to use.. "we cannot recommend ammo"
they replaced the mainspring housing assembly
they rebored the barrel
they adjusted the ejector..
they...
just put 4 mags thru it...
(they indicated they had put 40 rounds thru it with no problems....)
first 37 shells worked great
38th stovepipe.......
call in to Ruger as I am typing ... waiting for tech to call me back..
I was smiling for first 37.... but now....
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...
Ok.. new gun
first 100 or so rounds OK
then stovepipe and misfeeds and stove pipe
Called customer service..
they got me to tech... he listened ... had thoughts..
he said ship bak they would fix.. I said let me look at it first..
fifteen minutes later and call back to ruger had them send a...
