I had this problem with a S&W 940. It turns out it was the ammo I was using. Swede submachine gun ammo that was too hot. Worked fine with factory fodder.

Boring out is not the correct term. The cylinder simply needs to be reamed. Reaming dies are made just for this and cost about $40. Check with your gunsmith as he may already have the ream. Just like on the Ruger S frames, all the cylinders are the same ie .38, .357, 9mm. It's just how the...

The 9 wins. The 9 is a faster round than even the +P. It doesn't shed velocity as much as the .38 out of a 2 inch barrel and due to the short case there are no issues with a short stroke on the ejector rod. I think I'm going to have to buy one.

Mountain William, forget about the 9mm Speed Six; you can't find a nice one under $600. I sent my .38 cylinder off to TK Customs and he milled it for 9X23. Worked out cheaper than buying and converting a 9mm.

It looks like it's time to sell my S&W CS9....this is much sleeker. However it's still not as thin as my Colt pocket Nine.
