I have had the same issue. I haven't heard of any legitimate fix by Ruger. I check the takedown plate daily. Fortunately it's fairly intermittent for mine.

Imagine if Ruger adapted the 5.7 pistol and this to 10mm and they shared mags!!! Perfect companion pair. Optic and cowitness on the pistol and a 2-4x prismatic on the carbine. Perfect out to 200yds.

That would be an awesome package. I wonder if it would adapt to 460 Rowland???

I prefer a shoulder rig for anything that I'm not carrying in a pocket. I can wear over a t shirt and under a button up shirt.

Actually looking at what he has already done with it another $100 or so for a proper milling with a cowitness rear sight would make this a solid duty rated option. It would take a semi classic solid piece and turn it into a fully worthy modern Enhanced Duty Pistol. Too bad there aren't custom...

Those Dovetail mounts are mediocre at best. I tried a few before just getting proper Optic ready guns. The one I decided to keep I drilled and tapped 2 holes at the front of the plate and it's as solid as any mount. I don't think I'm going to hurt the value of my Frankenglock with a Police trade...

That's what I did with the rear sight dovetail mount on one of mine. It makes it as solid as a direct slide mounted setup. The dovetail mounts are mediocre at best but adding a few screws fixes that.

Why would you when you already have 460's? I guess if you have an extra $ thousand or two burning a hole in your pocket. I'm debating between another motorcycle or a truck!

Get a 460S&W. Way cooler and you can always toss the 454 specials in it for something lightweight 🤣😂🤣😂

If you drill and tap a few extra holes in the slide you can properly stabilize those dovetail mounts.

I'm still debating the platform for my 460 Rowland build. Availability of custom parts is the main issue. Cheapest and Easiest would be a Frankenglock like my 357sig that I could do for a few hundred dollars. Plenty of inexpensive 45 frames and slides on the market as well as readily available...
