    Security 9....Opinions Wanted

The triad of LCP II in .22lr, LCP II in 380 acp and the Security 9 in 9mm gives you a "layered defense" in 3 calibers that allow you to use or train up as you will. I love all three. I've got the very different SR1911 to cover .45acp.

    LCP .22 magazine question

I dropped a .22lr LCP II mag into some water. Took it apart to dry, clean and WD40. When I reassembled it, I could not get the tenth round in to save my soul. I found the spring base has a little right angle that has to go over the back of the case. Slide the floor plate back on and voila! 10...

    Ruger SR 22 hypervelocity rounds

You don't get a lot of extra velocity from the hot rounds with the short barrels of the SR22 and LCP II .22lr. I tend to use CCI Velocitors and Mini-Mags. Good reliable ammo, but you need a 10/22 to really take advantage of the special rounds.

    Ruger trigger safety

It's a pocket gun with no manual safety (.380 anyway). That trigger safety carries the whole safety load and in a proper holster or carrier that covers the trigger guard, it's all you need. Same philosophy as Glock.

    Security 9....Opinions Wanted

Love my Security 9. It is like an LCP II on 9mm steroids. I've got the .22lr LCP II, the .380 LCP II and the Security 9. They seem like a matched family though the Security 9 is a more rugged/beefy gun than the LCP II's.

LCPII : Is it a high mileage gun ?

Probably a 2000 rnd gun at best. YMMV.

    .22 semi-auto

SR22 was my first gun and I found it to be a good precursor for other semi-auto's. I probably have 2500 rounds through it. It happily fires any .22lr ammo that is not outright defective. It's accuracy is not quite target grade but you sure can learn how to shoot, load, field strip and fire. I...

    LCP2 in .22LR

I am free from that goofy loader. I found a video on YouTube where the guy simply put the finger of the hand holding the mag up against the side of the mag where the round is a little unstable side to side. Now I'm loading the little mags almost as fast as my SR22 mags only without the little...

    LCP2 in .22LR

Train with the .22lr safety off. I actually wish the 380 model had the safety. I'm not a fan of the magazine disconnect though. I think their philosophy was to add the safety measures to a model used for training down to the newbie level.

    LCP II Question

Carried mine on 2 5 day drives from FL to NV and back again. 7+1 no safety, Sticky holster on my right hip. No issues.

Ruger LCP II - Customer Service

My LCP II 380 is on the way back home from Ruger. Like Doug's, they replaced the barrel and the slide, fired it 32 times without issue and packed it up for the return flight home......due here Monday sometime. I'll post range results when I get to go.

    Security 9 accuracy

I replaced the recoil spring and rod with a heavier stainless model from a joint whose name starts with G in NC. I believe it helped. I ordered the 17# spring model. I can't remember how to post pics here or I'd put up my range visit after the spring change. I find it more controllable for me...

    LCP2 in .22LR

I got one and it is a great cheap-ammo trainer. It is so identical to the 380 model that you need to be careful. Unfortunately, the slides interchange, not functionally, but physically. I always check for the manual safety on the .22lr one to be sure.

    LCPII in .22 LR

According to Customer service (and me), the slides are not compatible between the two frames. One thing to watch out for on the "duh" front is that the magazines for each fit in both.
