Wouldn't a previous generation by definition be discontinued?

Has the previous generation of Bearcat been discontinued?
The original Bearcats were from serial number 1 through 90-25622 (1958-1970). In 1971 the Super Bearcat came out (1971-1974). All 91 prefix serial numbers. All since are the "New" Bearcat that started production in 1984 (650 prefix to begin with). The barrels were extended ever so slightly in order to meet the Canadian barrel length requirements ( as I understand it).

correct that to 1993, is when the "New" Bearcats came out,,,,that 650 prefix is I believe for the 32 cal Single Sixes......;)
the "New" Bearcats are all steel, and some of the first ones back in the 1993 were even convertibles, and now there a few different models barrel lengths sights and even stainless steel,,,,,,good to have them back after that 20 year hiatus........:rolleyes:

When was the ejector shroud changed from aluminum to steel?

Also, now I'm seeing Bearcats with adjustable sights. Seems to ruin the lines, but at least there's a choice for those that want them.

My Bearcat was a gift for my B-Day in 2012 by an old GF. According to serial # it was mfg. in 1968 and shipped in 1962. While I loved the engraving on the cylinder, overall, gun was a little small for my hand. When my son and G'daughter went out shooting with it, they both loved it, so I gave it to my son who will hold onto it until my G'daughter comes of age.

Yep I had my head somewhere else. the New Bearcats started with 93-00500 in 1993. Some days I can't seem to read much less type. 😵‍💫

Then there is this special model.
