    The Passing of a Legend/Hero

Bud Anderson a Triple Ace who flew in WWII, Korea, and at 48 years old in Vietnam, was not as well known as Chuck Yeager and Bob Hoover but he was of the same Metal. A great American Hero. RIP Old Crow. Grandson Chad and Bud checking out the Warbirds at Oshkosh Airshow

    The Boneyard at Davis-Monthan AFB

Son and Daughter both flew the T-34C while going thru Navy Flight School. It is a REAL shame that Beechcraft will NOT let the Navy sell the 34s to civilians due to liability.

    The Boneyard at Davis-Monthan AFB

It's The Commemorative Air Force (CAF), formerly known as the Confederate Air Force. The name change was all about the money and support.

    The Boneyard at Davis-Monthan AFB

Wifie and I visited the Boneyard and Pima Air Museum in 2007. What was sad for me was seeing the REMAINS of the XC-99 which is the cargo version of the B-36. I first saw the 99 at a distance in 1960 while at Lackland AFB during boot camp. Then in 1964 we took a tour of it during our first trip...

The Truth About the Memphis Belle (No Hollywood)

Unfortunately all I could watch was the making of it, which was very interesting. We do not get HBO.

The Truth About the Memphis Belle (No Hollywood)

As stated in the video the Belle was not the first B-17 to complete 25 missions. Here is the story of the First heavy bomber to complete 25 missions and on it's way back to the States when tragedy struck. The B–24 bomber crew of the "Hot Stuff" had a distinguished career and became the first...

    Book Recommendations

I'm currently reading "Masters Of The Air" It tells how and why the 8TH Air Force was formed and not just about the 100th Bomb Group. It also goes into detail of the slaughter of the aircrews during the early bombing missions over Europe. If you enjoy WWII history I recommend it. Yes I saw the...

Lever action Rifle .44 mag or 45-70?

41Dude If you would state what you plan on using the rifle for and if you reload I might be able to help more. For all of the 45-70 haters that think it is a shoulder thumper WRONG. It can be a great plinker. You can also have fun without loading to the max. I have shot as many 50 of my light...

    Star/Famous Person Doing Good

I was not aware of all that Dolly has done to help the needy. A shame that those that could help don't. Country singer Dolly Parton wrote the songs "I Will Always Love You" and "Jolene" on the same night. When the first song was at the top of the charts in 1974, Elvis wanted to record his own...

    Year of Manufacture?

You can tell if it is a Mag. or 22LR cylinder a few ways. If it has the firing pin grove and the chambers are bored all the way it is a LR. Or you can shoot it with 22LR and if the cases crack it is a 22 Mag. :) :) :) Also the 22 Mag. will not fit in the 22LR cylinder.
