What is the web address for Bud's. Please.Buds has/had a few Standards in stock, or did a few days ago.
FWIW, The Standard SAA is very well made, but they seem to have lost a bit of interest in it as did USFA. I called them last year & ask if any additional calibers might be added, particularly the 44 Special.
I got a slightly snippy answer that what they were making was it. No other plans.
Thanks Cholo.
If you read the same article I did, you missed the word "defunct" before the business name.I just read an on line article by Mike Ventorino about Colt SAA revolvers. In the article he was saying how much he liked US Firearms as you could order so many calibers, barrel lengths, and grip frames. I got excited about ordering a .38-40
With a Bisley grip and a 7.5 inch barrel. According to the internet the business is closed. I wish Mike had put that info in the article. Anybody know what happened to the company?
Good luck with that! I remember when CDNN had them on closeout. I came very, very close to buying a pair of 4 3/4 inch, 3/4 engraved guns in 44-40. They were $1700 each. Last ones that I saw that were set up like this were selling for $4500 each. So, I really missed the boat on these. You will not find one cheap. Thanks Jimbo for the info. I am late as usual. Maybe I will find a used one.
I may have missed the word defunct. I will reread and see if I did. ThanksIf you read the same article I did, you missed the word "defunct" before the business name.
I saw the article on American Handgunner web article. I have not had time to review it. I may have missed the word defunct. My source was the print edition of American Handgunner March-April 2023.
Nah snippy is just how we speak in CT. Never realized until I visited the real America.I'm gonna guess that the reason you got a 'sniipy' answer from Standard Manufacturing company is because they are actually owned by Connecticut Shotgun. If you click the first link below, you can see that these are really the BIG BOYS... They like customers who buy custom made shotguns from their pretty impressive factory (they probably would prefer the word 'facility'). I've been to their 'facility' and, believe me, if you got the money, they got the time and the goods.
The first link is to their shotgun page (worth a view); the second link can be found on their shotgun website or just click it here. Personally, I would pass on them and get myself a real Colt or a used USFA (just because they don't exist anymore).
