My only engraved gun began as a Rodeo.

Buds has/had a few Standards in stock, or did a few days ago.
FWIW, The Standard SAA is very well made, but they seem to have lost a bit of interest in it as did USFA. I called them last year & ask if any additional calibers might be added, particularly the 44 Special.
I got a slightly snippy answer that what they were making was it. No other plans.
What is the web address for Bud's. Please.

The two USFA's I have given to my son could run with the big dawgs anywhere, anytime. My son started rattling my cage about 10 years ago concerning the quality and beauty of the USFA sixguns.

He knows his shooters and can put a couple of little pills in the same hole (young eyes). When he was chosen Honor Cadet at Navy boot camp, I gave him his first USFA. When he was chosen Mentor of the Year for the Navy, I gave him his second one.
A gift for those 2 accomplishments had to be really sweeeeeeeet.

Reading the above post about a member here having one in 32-20 WCF made my heart take a little pitter patter. From the 1870's to the 2020's, makes that old caliber 150 years old and still getting more delightful every day.

I have three USFA guns, 1 John Wayne centennial, and 2 red river , all 45 colt
Never shot the centennial engraved one, shot the other 2 maybe 20 shots each
Nice handguns,
The first pic is off the red river gun, have two of those , the three pics are of the centennial one

Been very happy with the fit, finish and function of my Standard Manufacturing SAA 45. This was in my LGS last year and I ended bringing it home. Shoots great timing is perfect and shoots to point of aim. Have several Colts but this is the one I shoot the most. No Italian parts. Over 500 rounds through this one and it is protected with Renaissance Wax after cleaning.

My 1973 Colt Peacemaker Centennial is a great shooter. Last of the 2nd gen and a black powder frame.

I just read an on line article by Mike Ventorino about Colt SAA revolvers. In the article he was saying how much he liked US Firearms as you could order so many calibers, barrel lengths, and grip frames. I got excited about ordering a .38-40
With a Bisley grip and a 7.5 inch barrel. According to the internet the business is closed. I wish Mike had put that info in the article. Anybody know what happened to the company?
If you read the same article I did, you missed the word "defunct" before the business name.

Bought my first USFA in .45, black powder model, 4 3/4" early on, the Uberti parts version. Then I grabbed a later pair of all U.S. versions .44 Spls, smokeless 4 3/4", dual caliber marked: ".44 Special and Russian" with authentic bordered checkering on hammer spurs. The last pair I found are smokeless .44 Spl/.44-40 convertibles, consecutive serial numbers. I bought them all new and they are in original black boxes w/paperwork. Each fired less than 20 rounds except one .44spl; less than 50 rounds.

Thanks Jimbo for the info. I am late as usual. Maybe I will find a used one.
Good luck with that! I remember when CDNN had them on closeout. I came very, very close to buying a pair of 4 3/4 inch, 3/4 engraved guns in 44-40. They were $1700 each. Last ones that I saw that were set up like this were selling for $4500 each. So, I really missed the boat on these. You will not find one cheap.

I'm gonna guess that the reason you got a 'sniipy' answer from Standard Manufacturing company is because they are actually owned by Connecticut Shotgun. If you click the first link below, you can see that these are really the BIG BOYS... They like customers who buy custom made shotguns from their pretty impressive factory (they probably would prefer the word 'facility'). I've been to their 'facility' and, believe me, if you got the money, they got the time and the goods.
The first link is to their shotgun page (worth a view); the second link can be found on their shotgun website or just click it here. Personally, I would pass on them and get myself a real Colt or a used USFA (just because they don't exist anymore).

Nah snippy is just how we speak in CT. Never realized until I visited the real America.

↑ Oh, good grief! What a Rube Goldberg contraption. I only made it to the 3:45 mark and couldn't take any more of the failures.

USFA went from arguably the best SAA model ever made to that.
