I mentioned that my 1st handgun was stolen and a lot of others have suffered the same fate. I have no use for thieves and I think most here share my sentiment
Yes we are . What fun would the forum be without stories , even when the topic strays a bitAnd we are on topic......how many times do we have to point out that Blume's first gun as per our thread, and still has it, per the thread, is called "Mabel" !!! We are still on topic......
That really sucks, but it gives you all the reason in the world to buy "another one". !!!!Ruger Single Six. It was stolen almost 30 years ago in Fayetteville, NC
I've lost a couple of handguns that way. After years of berating my about my Glock 30 she glommed onto my 42 in a heartbeat. So, I just bought another. My first handgun was a S&W model 19. Bought in 1974 and sorta still have it. My wife decided that was a perfect size for her to shoot so I get to clean and oil it for her. She does reload her own bullets though so life is great!
Job security for me.......sorry did I drift?I mentioned that my 1st handgun was stolen and a lot of others have suffered the same fate. I have no use for thieves and I think most here share my sentiment
After the Navy I've made a living chasing bad guys......some here make you feel as if you are the bad guy for making it a living......You mean the "Drifters", that famous group from the 50's and 60's ??? Just Kidding !! Forget I even mentioned it !! ....How is it job security for you ??
I used to go down to the slew below the house I lived in every day after work and shoot a box of 50. At one point I may have actually clened out all of the Nutria. That only last about two months and they were back. They are an invasive species here so------no limit. That is a lot of rounds !!
Thanks WT. Not only stole My Grandfather's gift when Papa died in 1963, but also physically and mentally abused me and my mother. The stepfather died an early death at age 48 from throat cancer in 1978. The Kit gun then went into his brother's vault in High Point NC where it sat until 2000. The brother died that year and his wife notified my mother who demanded that gun be returned to me.I am glad you got it back. I hope someone kicked the no good piece of manure in the nuts as a reminder to leave his hands off of things.
That's too bad about your BKM. It wasn't your fault. Even if you had checked it more, you still may have not noticed it. I would just call that experience a lesson in life......My first handgun was a Star BKM. I bought it without checking it over. The previous owner did a kitchen table feeding ramp polish job and went overboard. When shot the fired brass looked pregnant. I sold it at a loss shortly after.
Those Nutria get pretty big like the size of a fat cat, but it's a big rat, from what I hear. What was the biggest one you saw or shot ??I used to go down to the slew below the house I lived in every day after work and shoot a box of 50. At one point I may have actually clened out all of the Nutria. That only last about two months and they were back. They are an invasive species here so------no limit.
