I am still trying to fathom all of this. Your buddy's uncle bought a gun a WEEK for 20 Years. Never fired any of them. All NIB with original packaging Most of them are all handguns......a whole house full of brand new unfired quality firearms....and again mostly handguns..... NIB.....a whole house full of guns......and your friend inherits ALL of them.....the whole house full......My question is when did the Great Blue Bird of Paradise Poop on his head, and the bird must have pooped a lot. In other words......unfrickin believable !!! Please ask him if he needs another friend, as I could be available !!!.......unfreakking believable !!! 👍

Yes, they can be fun to shoot......but then you have to clean them up........
I've always just cleaned the cylinder, barrel and exterior as normal and then shot gun oil, CLP into the frame openings. Every year or so completely strip, clean out the black gunky stuff, re oil and assemble. That worked just fine but a few years ago a fellow suggested packing the interior of the frame with Mobil One synthetic grease and changing that every year or so. Works great and you can clean a blackpowder revolver almost as quick as a smokeless modern gun…

I inherited 3 and still have them plus a few I have since bought. Before that I only had a hunting rifle and shotgun and usually kept those in my dad's gun safe due to small kids in the house. I did often shoot handguns with my dad though. Kids are out of the house and guns are in.

I thought that I had replied to this thread long ago, but I could not find it, so here is my post, perhaps again. I bought my first gun in 1965, a Ruger 6.5" blued Blackhawk, and I still own it. I use to quickdraw with it, so my pic also shows the western holster that this gun sits in. I had it updated by Ruger about 10 years ago, which they did for free. So, now it has the transfer bar, and I can load all 6 cylinders safely!

No, unfortunately I do not have my first handgun. In 1978 I bought a Ruger .22. It had the shorter barrel but I thought it said Mark I on it. I know it wasn't the longer barreled Target model. Anyhow, me being only 19 and didn't have a FOID card, it wasn't a legal purchase. Didn't care. I kept it under my dresser in my bedroom of my apartment and only my roommate and 2 friends knew it was there and nobody bothered it. One day my roommate and I came home from work and saw one of the windows had been pried open. We searched the apartment and the only thing missing was my pistol. I knew it couldn't have been taken by one of the friends that knew it was there as he also worked where my roommate and I did. The other "friend" coincidentally moved away that same day and nobody could say where he went.

My second handgun I purchased was in a Star 30M in 1986. That one I still have. It has been reblued and the guy jeweled the barrel, which I didn't ask for and didn't care for at the time. It doesn't bother me as much now though.

Like that saying, there's nothing like friends. Yeah, I would think your "friend" who coincidentally moved away that day, was the villain....on a much brighter note, the Model 30 is one of very finest 9MM's ever made, IMO. They are solid and I've always heard wonderful things about them....👍

SigPro 2340 in .40S&W. It been flawless for nearing 2 decades now. Wouldn't know how to react if it failed I'm afraid.

This was also the first pistol 🔫 purchased, $450 It only had a hundred rounds per through it. Sadly it was stolen from me. Always a very reliable gun.

I still have the first gun I ever shot, a Marlin golden 39A passed down to me by my stepfather in my twenties.
