A semi automatic Blackhawk?.........that's wild! ;)

Apparently it's possible! There was a short write-up in the Association of Firearm and Tool Mark Examiners (AFTE) Journal back in 1978, about a Blackhawk that was converted (sort of ;^) to full auto:

Ruger Blackhawk Automatic Revolver Conversion
"A case report on an attempt to convert a Ruger Blackhawk revolver to fully automatic fire. The frame and cylinder from a Ruger Blackhawk were retrofitted with a 30 M-1 caliber barrel and gas piston. A longer cylinder pin was used to contact the gas piston of the M-1 barrel, which drove the pin to the rear upon firing the first cartridge. This action also rotated the cylinder to the next firing position. In concept, holding the trigger to the rear would accomplish fully automatic discharge. In practice, the full auto functioned only once during testing."

My favorite and only Ruger semi auto at the moment, stainless LCP with LCP Custom style skeleton trigger. This gun is pocket carry/deep concealment perfection!

That P89 looks just like mine......same year or so....maybe 93 or could be 94 ?? In the same condition as yours.....makes me smile. 🙂

The very first semi auto I ever bought (other than a Baby Browning back in the '60's) was a Ruger P97dc, which I still have and which has never had even the most minor failure. I have not had a single reason to dislike any of my Rugers, and I now several a bunch, other than the PITA of re-assembling my EDC (an LC9s) because of the seating of the spring which has to be just right or you can't engage the barrel. My Mark IV is one I especiall enjoy since it is very accurate, totally reliable with decent ammunition, and could not be simpler to take apart and clean. I used to think that my Glocks were the easiest to dissassemble but the Mark IV takes the honor now.
