Let's just say that when 2000 gallons of septage blows out a 4" glass sight window near the bottom of the tank it is like a poop pressure washer ! That is when you zip up the rain gear and play like the little Dutch boy putting his finger (fist actually) in the hole and making sure your mouth is closed!🤣

That reminds me of the day a semi-tanker hauling pig effluent cut the corner on a gravel road and laid over on it's side. Something like 5000 gallons of 'poop soup' spread like one would expect along the right of way of the county road. The stink remained all summer was still a lingering essence the next spring. o_O
Something else one might not expect: Our water supply pulls water from a moderately sized impoundment(lake). The first step in turning that water into potable quality is a 'settling' lagoon. Every 12-15 months the sludge from these settling ponds has to be 'pumped' and hauled away. The sludge is spread on local farmland and it's a LOT more stinky than one might think.;)
