You can find most anything on the interweb. Google Pam's Purple Door. You can even rent a room there if you want to stay..... I had completely forgotten the raid in 1980. That was when we went, apparently not long after the raid.
La Grange Texas had one I believe. When we lived in The Colony Texas, there was a purple house, rumored to be a place of respite for the 'ladies.'
Must have been the 'in' thing. I used to live in Grand Island, NE and there was a big dust up there at the time. A guy who was big into truck stop ownership was from there and apparently he visited a certain motel for some action. Long story short, the woman who came to his door was his daughter. She was a big party animal and apparently made some extra money that way. The motel was a pretty nice one, but as you said, Blume, when the sign had misspelled words the 'ladies' were available. Not going to mention any names, he was pretty well known in the truck stop world.Speaking of this, a 'while ago' when I was studying to be in broadcasting the college I was attending had a prostitute come and speak to our class along with the criminal justice department students and I remember her explaining that she had been part of a traveling group that moved from low rent motel to low rent motel and the way you could tell they were in residence is the sign on the marque out front would have spelling errors on it.
As bad as the guy who was at a stag party and was shocked when the stripper was his daughter. That was an awkward moment for sure....Must have been the 'in' thing. Wasn't Mary Magdelin a prostitute?I've heard it said that the the "ladies of the night" is the oldest profession still in existence dating back to the old Roman days. My father in law was the president of an Operating Engineers' union. He used to repute that and said Operating Engineers are the oldest, they were there first and built the roads so the ladies could get to Rome.
Coors and hoo-ers! A shot of Kessler's and a Coors Banquet cuts the dust and the "ladies" look better after a few!I still love the smell of stale beer and cheap perfume..
YES the bible I believe indicates she was possessed by the devil. She was said to also be violent at times.Wasn't Mary Magdelin a prostitute?
It's more expensive! Stay out of there. There used to be a place in Deadwood called Pam's Purple Door. Pretty notorius and left alone by the police. My friend and I decided to go there to see what it was like to pay for it. It was shut down a few days before we got there. This was in 1980, I think.
I have been married twice and didn't know I had married Mary Madeline. Both of them, at various times, fit that description.YES the bible I believe indicates she was possessed by the devil. She was said to also be violent at times.
