Rifle that's been in the family for a very long time. Shot maybe a dozen times by yours truly and my late Dad. This is a smokeless powder rifle with an octagon barrel. It has a factory letter that comes with it. The bore is very, very good. The flats on this octagon are how they all looked back then. Barrel is 26 inches, which was the standard length. Action works and functions as a quality 86 action should. Trigger is about spot on. No work has been done to this rifle. And in my opinion it is an original example. Very high percentage of the original rust bluing on the barrel. Significant percentage or original receiver bluing. Markings and proofs are crisp and proper. Wood is sound and has no major detractions I see. Prefer to do face to face. Asheville, NC/Clover SC area. State residency proof, FFL, etc would work depending on circumstances. Pics to follow…

That's a great looking rifle. I have one in my safe made in 1890, so it gets light hand loads. I elk hunt with it when close shots are expected. My grand dad and father both harvested elk with it, I have not.
