I probably have a set of xr3-red silver medallion grips, but can't remember if there is anything special about a 1976 version. Would they be more of the tarnished eagle variety or more of the squashed eagle? I don't think they would be super Blackhawk size… but memory eludes me… ha ha. Lmk

That's some good thinking there…/\/\/\

I kinda wondered why someone would want some of the tarnished eagle variety, must be a collector thing???

I think, actually have a set somewhere around here,,,, if that's what you're truly looking for. Hopefully Rugerfishhuntnut has what your looking for as it's going to be a dig for me.

I pulled them from a 1976 Old Army and replaced them with OM Blackbird Medallion grips, while not correct, IMO they look better.

FWIW, the set I have show some good "patina"

Pic of some of my grips . Counting top left to bottom right, top row 1-3 are damaged sets so don't look at those. second row left is #4, early light walnuts. Third row are squashed eagles with blued screw and eschuseons which are late OM, early NM and I don't think those made it to 1976. Last (right) in second row, first left fourth row might be the ones you want. Let me know.. I can pm individual pic of a set to you for closer inspection….

Others chime in as to which set would be right for a 1976 gun…
