Wondering about the BFR

Help Support Ruger Forum:

Ive only had 3 BFR's. One 44 mag and 2 in 475's. I'm a big believer in the transfer bar which Freedom Arms didn't have back in the day. You take a FA 454 which is a 5 shot and leave one empty under the hammer and now you have a 4 shooter. BFR's are still a good strong revolver. A little heavier than a standard Ruger SA, but also stronger. I do prefer the wide Spur hammer on any single action.

I didn't read all the other posts, so I hope I contributed something useful.

I have a custom shop Bisley BFR in 44. It is easily the most accurate revolver I own. Fantastic trigger. The frame is larger than a SBH by a little and it weighs more than a SBH. Mounted a 2.5-8x Crimson Trace scope on it. Was connecting on PD's at 150 yards no problem. If I missed, it wasn't the guns fault. 240xtp @ 1650fps.

Got the new stocks the other day. They required some fitting, but I like them much better than the rubber one.
