A friend of mine has a Ruger Mark II 4" tapered barrel with fixed sights.

A look at the Williams website shows a set of fire sights for a 678 Mark II.

Any reason a set couldn't be installed on the above pistol?

Thanks

YES...wrong front sight heighth. The Ruger M678 has a larger O.D. barrel.

And so it goes...
Thanks..

Any idea if there are any sight upgrades that will work for a 4" Mark II with fixed sights?

Depends on what you want. Volquartsen makes a tall front sight that will allow the use of a normal adjustable rear sight. There is also a lower adjustable rear sight that works with the original front sight. I'm not aware of any fiber optic sights that will work on the standards.

Vic, as noted above , front sight is way too high.....we found over the years the 'LPA" we used to get from Brownells works just fine , it is a "low profile adjustable" sight and uses the existing front blade...you put a too high , rear and you must put a front sight on that is so high, you can use it for a can opener 8)

Find an old-stock Pachmayr rear adjustable. They were built to be used with the factory front sight.
And the front blade can always be filed/re-shaped as-needed. File down or add J-B weld for a higher blade.
