I picked up one of those converted short magazines off eBay as well. It was delivered in clear. Haven't tried to fit it in my RAR yet because I don't have one yet! (But I will be ready when I do finally get one. ) Assuming it won't fit without some kind of modification, I think I'll just swap the "guts" with a black one and that should do it. I got this idea from a "dyeing" thread, where I noticed that they had stripped the clear ones completely before putting them in the dye.

That's a good idea LCPeaShooter. The reason I Dremeled my RAR's mag well was because I also had a couple of the old 30 round Ramline mags that actually feed great but they were very tight fitting and I wanted all my mags including the converted .22 short clear BX-1's to fit.

I have shot longs in my 10/22 with no problems. Only the high velocities will cycle.

Thanks chsparkman. That's another confirmation that longs will work in the BX-1 mags! Being that the RAR is a bolt action, it's unimportant if one uses high velocity .22 longs in the RAR as it is with the 10/22.

That's the reason I bought the RAR as it will shoot shorts, longs and LR's.
