I would render a GUESS that eventually they may very well add the Model 39 to the line-up. Time,,sales,, equipment, employees, demands for other models,, all play a part in when new models can be added to any inventory. And since the M39 was a very popular rifle,, and with Ruger looking to expand things,, (to give a few other companies some competition) I'd GUESS it could happen.

"I'd prefer the Model 60 coming back first" Some folks just prefer a tube magazine over a removable mag.
That would fit into the current market better. Although Dad had a 39-A that I was enamored with because it was sort of a 'cowboy gun' at a time when I was 100% into cowboy mode, I no longer have interest in a lever action 22. Just too many better options for a utility rifle IMHO. Rossi(?) already offers a wide selection of such guns.

They still show the Model 60, XT rimfire bolt and the model 795 takedown rifle under the "RIMFIRE" heading on the current Marlin website as not in production but there is no sign of the model 39 on the current website…not sure what to read into that

I'm a fan of the Model 60. I have 3 variations in my .22 collection. BUT...Will Ruger ever produce it again to compete against the 10/22 and their other. 22 rimfire models?... This thread however, is about the M-39.

Henry owns the .22 Lever Action market at this time, and is selling ever single one that they manufacture (MANY thousands annually.)... And, still can't keep up with the demand. Obviously shooting down Mobuck's post regarding the "current market" desire for such an offering IMO. I myself, have two Henry's in .22 LR, and two others in .22 Magnum...And, since I've purchased them, my JM 39A & 39M tend to sit "safe and sound" in the safe more often than not...Even though I consider the Marlin a FAR superior rifle to the Henry.

What I'd like to see, is a stainless version M-39...But, again will Ruger invest in the time consuming, and expensive to produce model to compete against the Henry, which sells for quite a bit less... Or, it's other rimfire offerings?

I for one, truly hope so! 🤞

Would it be a lever action .22 that takes 10/22 mags ??
I'm here for a resurrected 96/22 taking 10/22 mags. And I won't apologize for it. There's a place for a lever with a BX-25 smashed in the mag well right alongside the traditional beauty of a 39A. Or plinking steel with a Camp 9 alongside a Scorpion or a Banshee. Variety is the spice of life.

They didn't sell well and were discontinued. And Ruger just doesn't resurrect models that weren't profitable.
I had one, it was OK but certainly nothing special, so I traded it off. And, I definitely wouldn't pay current collector prices to replace it.

The most expensive .22 rifle that I have is a Ruger 96/22. I bought it used in perfect shape from a friend in the ROCS. The cost of the rifle wasn't bad but the 172 mile towing charge and replacing the CVT on the Chevy Spark that I had was the expensive part. We still get a good laugh about it.

Resurrect the Marlin 39A/39M...I've been thoroughly impressed with every Ruger made Marlin that I've examined thus far, but don't own one yet. A .22 Lever Action would absolutely change that equation for me however.
Doubtful. To build it correctly it would have an MSRP of well over $1000. Wait, the centerfire Ruger Marlins are already way over-priced too. Well, maybe they will make a 39A. Nope. Ruger couldn't even find success with their own lever 22. We think they're gonna copy someone else's?

Henrys are pot metal and cheap. That's how they sell. A real 39A copy would be all machined steel with walnut, no MIM (or whatever it's called) and no plastic. If they do, it'll shove the value of my 1951 Peanut through the roof like the centerfire Ruger Marlins did to my 1951 Waffle Top.

It would NOT have a rotary magazine. Please no stainless. Stainless levers make my sad. Marlin never (thankfully) made a 39A in stainless that I know of.

There's always an exception, right? Like Ruger's Police Carbine not making it then resurrected as the PC Carbine.

Same in name only. Completely different item. More different than an Old Model and a current Blackhawk.

As the owner of one from the late 70's I hope so.
Just please, keep the threaded muzzle for other 22's in their line up.
The 39 is one of the best 22's ever made.

Think it is the 96/22. Only saw one in my time up for sale used. 22 mag fan so love to see the current 10/22 offered in 22M. in stainless synthetic take-down.

I've got a couple of the Henry's. They are smooth as butter and really accurate. They are also aluminum actions with a Zamak cover. They seem to be really durable but they do lack that "quality" feel. Unfortunately, the price doesn't reflect that and the entry H001 can be found at the $325-350 range.

The one that sorta interested me was the new Winchester that is similarly priced, but was a takedown with 1 screw. They should hit the shelves at $400 or less, but they were announced at SHOT this year and no stock is available yet it seems.
