Will a old tang safety Ruger M77 accept floorplate assembly from a Mk II or Hawkeye models? Thanks in advance for any info.

No. The MkII/Hawkeye Floor Plate is nearly 1/4 in. longer, pushing the "middle screw" back, in turn making the trigger guard bow shorter.
If I may, are you looking to replace the floor plate or "bottom metal" on the Tang Safety rifle?

Hi, rvolvr: thanks for the reply. Since no one had replied I had forgotten about this post until I saw today there was a reply. What I was looking at was the purchase of a tang safety M77 in .308. I hate the aluminum floorplates, so was wondering if I could put a steel one from a MkII on it. Thanks again for the reply.
I have a NIB blued steel Trigger Guard, Floor Plate and Hinge set by Pacific Tool & Gauge, for the tang safety Ruger, but it's for a Long Action. I, too, dislike the aluminum bottom metal on these guns. Back in the day, Ruger put steel parts on their .375 H&H and .458 models Win., and I got a set then for my .338 RS. I fell into the PT&G set quite by accident, and couldn't pass it up, just in case I should find another rifle "in need". I believe I'm beyond that now.
