Why my wife doesn't like me going to the gun shows

For some reason I just can't seem to walk past a short barreled OM 45 Colt without it jumping into my hand. It is no safe queen but I have a hard time not shooting something so it's a perfect companion for my other one.


The bottom one I picked up some time back. It was "converted" to a flattop by the previous owner but I added the XR3 grip frame. I like the feel of the smaller grips and this one had taken the place of the NM 41 Mag as my back country companion.

That looks like a fine shooter BKH44 (the 45 Colt there). There were less made of those than the 44 flattops. If I could go to a gunshow and pick up something like that more often, I'd go to more gunshows. I've only found ONE of those short-barrel 45 Colt Blackhawks, and it wasn't in as good a shape as yours. NICE FIND!

Been hoping one of those would show up here in IL so I could have one. Not yet. And I even got a spare XR3 grip frame for it.

I really like those short barreled Blackhawks too. Got one in 41 and one in 45. Both NM's.

I love the short bbls and have everything that ruger makes in 4 5/8" plus a few that arent offered in the short ones like the 30 carbine and a extra super with 7 1/2". I have concidered cutting these back to make them fit in with the others.
