Whoops I did it again!! SIGH

I am beginning to LOATH my mark iii 22/45. When I first got it I couldn't get the mainspring out when I put it back together. Sent it back to Ruger. Next time I got brave enough to clean it got it back together with no incident. Still a jamomatic so I bought the Volquartsen extractor. Looked at it for months before I scolded myself with the no guts no glory mantra to man up and install it. I did last night and (fill in EVERY blue word you know) I fouled up on the hammer positioning gymnastics and can't get the mainspring to swing out AGAIN.

SIGH.

The mainspring will not swing out. It comes out about half an inch and goes no farther.

Any tricks or suggestions?

I futzed with it per the instructions and I think I have it not a paperweight anymore. TO THE RANGE!!!
