Well, I am coming up short. I know that 9.5" barreled Single Sixes are still in production, but I will be darned if I can find anyone who is making holsters for 'em!

Hunter has a holster they advertise for the 9.5" (a Cowboy style), but it actually allows an inch or two of barrel to be exposed at the bottom.

Uncle Mikes has a universal nylon holster meant for larger framed revolvers like the 10.5" SBH. Otherwise I am running out of luck unless I want to spend big bucks.

Any suggestions? Would like to keep cost around 60 or 70 bucks if possible.

You may well have bought that holster from me! I sold one about a year or so ago, thinking I would have no further use for it, sigh!

The problem with Hunter holsters is a lack of online retailers. The #1080 can be found at Cabelas, but that is the one that allows the end of the barrel to be exposed. The #1085 exists no where online that I can find....for the 9.5" Single Six that is. The #1100 is a similar situation. Strangely enough, Hunter lists a Slim Jim for the 9.5" Single Six in the photo section, but NOT in the holster chart?

Either the Slim Jim, #1085, or the #1100 works for me. I guess I will give Hunter a call in the morning.

Thanks for the help in any case!

Edited to add: Found the 1085 at Cabelas after all, but it only shows up if you search for it by the exact model number?!?! If you use their online catalog, it does not appear? Was able to order the 1085 in left hand! All is right with the world!

I have a Hunter holster for my 9 1/2" barrel three-screw.
It's stamped #9 on the belt loop - where the loop goes between belt and levis.

About 30 years old, nicely made and looks a lot like the Bianchi Lawman holster I carry my 7 1/2" 44 mag SBH in.
Quality, to my eye, is equal to the Bianchi and the Bianchi is a nicely made holster, good fit etc. and has a retainer strap with snap button.

No retainer strap on the Hunter holster, but the gun has never come out and I've carried it in the field quite a bit.

The barrel does not stick out of the holster.
The barrel end is 5/8" up inside with the gun fully seated in the holster.
Open bottom fwiw.

Length of the holster measured from top outside of the pocket - which almost hides all of the cylinder - to the bottom is 11 3/8"

Measuring from top of belt loop to bottom of the pocket along the front edge is 14 3/8"

Interestingly there are a couple of tiedown holes for the gunfighter type rawhide strap that goes around your leg.
Not visible from the outside.

The holster rides just fine when walking or running, no slapping around unless its slid around to the back a little bit.
I don't see a need for a tiedown unless perhaps you were riding a horse.

The holster is constructed in such a manner that it hangs straight down.
Which is ok, but a cross-draw option would be nice.
Kinda hangs up in the Jeep now and then, but once you remember that its not the P89 and hangs down a touch more, no big deal.

I really like the 9 1/2" S-S and have taken it along on more varmint hunts than any other 22.
Handgun or rifle.

Makes a nice companion to the M77 in 22-250....

EHJ Saddle Shop in Texas. Look in Gun Broker. $50 and they are quite nice. I bought one for my KS 9 and decided not to shoot it. It is NIB and I am looking for a used KS 9 or KNR 9. Big Larry

I am still trying to find the one that is listed in the classifieds. Also I entered in the part number 1085 at cabelas.com and nothing appeared. This is a really tough holster to find! If anyone has any information please let me know!
