Hey guys, for what it's worth. I bought a bottle of sight Kote, White, with the needle in the bottle. (Brownells) I cleaned the little notch on the rear sight of my Blackhawk. I filled the notch with white paint. I didn't get enough paint the first time because I didn't want to paint the whole rear sight! I got a little more the 2nd time and let the paint dry about an hour. I then took a tooth pick and scraped off the excess paint. It just flakes off and then you have a white outline rear sight. I could not find a wo blade anywhere. I hope this helps, a little. I'm gonna figure out where to paint the front sight RED, once I get my loads set. BHK

I have touched-up the white outline on a couple of rear sight blades using thin model railroad paint. I assume Testors would work just as well as long as it is thinned so it will flow. What I did was after it was almost dry I turned the blade up-side-down and rubbed it across a piece of cardboard that had some thinner on it. That took off any paint outside the notch. :D

Yep, I have used finger nail polish. Testors works well too. I'm gonna paint the front ramp on the blackhawk, it should work the same. There are more than ONE way to skin a cat! BHK

Typing correction fluid (white out)?

Used to blacken the front site blades on my guns during bulls eye competition matches with a lit match...

Since my original post I have replaced a malfunctioning rear sight on my NM Blackhawk. I got a Bowen rear sight from Brownells, and it has me on target and shooting! I was stuck at 6" left POI and a non-functioning rear sight. There are 3 sight options for the Bowen, and I got the white outline. I am sending my Stainless Steel Blackhawk to be converted to 41 mag, Bowen rear sight, and brass bead front. I shot a friends gun like this, and I was hooked. BHK

There are a large number of Millett sights, NIB, on e-Bay. Always some for Ruger revolvers and pistols, though you may have to watch for the correct sight for the model you need, and at reasonable prices. I recently picked up a set of Millett white outline adjustable rear and white line fixed front sights for my Ruger Mark II standard fixed sight model. Easy to install, rear sight fit right in dovetail, had to drill the front sight blade which comes with new roll pin. Black Dog
