White Christmas?

Help Support Ruger Forum:

I don't think there is too much danger of a white Christmas here South of Atlanta. Most of the times I remember us getting snow were all pretty much around March. Our recent weather has been up & down like a yo-yo. Heck in Georgia we might hit 3 or 4 seasons in one day.

Sure we do. You just need to be in the right part of SoCal. As a kid we spent most Christmas' at our cabin in Big Bear. Always a white Christmas there.

The last White Christmas I experienced was during my last tour in Korea. Camp Humphreys in '95. We DID get a good snow (crippling for the Augusta GA area) on December 26th 2010, when I spent a year there for work.

Out here on the Great Plains, we will have one. It has snowed several times recently, about a half inch at a time so we have about an inch and a half to maybe 2 inches on the ground. As per usual, the wind blows constantly, making it difficult to spend much time outdoors, but it is white and bright.

Well wishes coming from South Dakota to everyone here, even those who just have to argue about dern near anything. :)
Spent a week in Sioux Falls one day, on my way back to Rapid City. 🤣
Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!

It snowed 7-8" of light fluffy stuff yesterday when the high was 18. I got out and carefully plowed, trying not to tear up the driveway which still hasn't frozen up (it was in the 40s and rainy last week).

Temp this morning when I got up was 2. I don't see how we won't have a white Christmas.

That's the forecast for my son's place 1.5 hours north and up a bit in elevation, where we will be for Christmas. Temps here are generally 3-5 degrees warmer here (for example, it is -2 up there now and +3 here).
We have green grass and rain here in Southwestern Idaho. No snow in the forecast. We have snow in the mountains.

It was -4 here when I got up but by now it is up to +8. That's the good news. The bad news is we lost power about 45 minutes ago and the power company estimates a 3pm restoration time, which is 2:45 from now.

Update: power came back a half hour after I posted that ^^^

Thanks god it was back to run the garage door opener when my wife got back from the gym or there would be no living with her.
