While surfing (that word still being used?) I ran across a thread titled "what's new"...

My condolences.

I couldn't care less how comfortable they are, I ain't gettin' caught dead with them things on my feet. Did you wear Jellies in the '80's and Heelz in the 2000's? :ROFLMAO:
Do you mean Heelys? I always wanted a pair of those, but I was born in 1964 and by the time those were popular, I'd have probably died like Robert Atkins if I'd tried it. My balance isn't that great, and it hasn't improved with age.

(If that makes no sense, Bob Atkins (of the ketogenic Atkins Diet fame) died from a head injury when he slipped on ice walking to work and hit the back of his head on the sidewalk. He was in a coma in the hospital for a week before dying. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/2957343.stm His Wikipedia page buries that fact in a smokescreen of other statements about his health intended to make his diet sound dangerous.)

What did you wear in the 80's? whatever was handed down in the trailer park?
I had to wear hand me downs when I was little in the late '70 and early '80's because I did not live in a trailer park.

Yeah ... those. 😁

If any of you older guys dread having to bend over to put on and tie your shoes, you can consider some of the new slip on shoes that don't need lacing. I recently bought a pair of Sketchers Slip-Ons that just look like plain black shoes, but I can just slip my feet in while standing up, and they stay on my feet comfortably. Very convenient.

I have two of the Sketchers slip-on and they are the most comfortable and easy to put on shoe I have.
Never liked jellies or even flip flops or Crocs.
I do have a half dozen or so Hawaiian shirts, the favorite is black with large white plumeria blossoms.
I have seen Dudes shoes at Academy but never saw a style or color I liked.

I have worn pink. It comes naturally from accidently getting something red in with the whites.
I have zero issues with pink, I've gotten many compliments about my choice. Seems I look good in pink:unsure:

I like wearing a hat, not just a ballcap but a hat. A couple felt hats, a couple straw hats, a badger fur trapper style. Keeping the sun off my ears is getting to be more of a thing.

I learned a long time to never say "You'll never catch me wearing XXXXX". About 1967 I was back in NYC on leave after spending a year in Texas in the military, and all I saw all over Brooklyn were guys wearing "bell bottom" pants. I thought they looked ridiculous and I told my wife that "you'll never catch me wearing those stupid bell bottoms". Well, a year or two later this "fashion" had spread across the country and about the only jeans you could buy were bell bottoms. Since then I dont claim to have the last word on any fashion issues.

Dang. I have several pairs of Sketchers slip-in, a 36" shoehorn for most everything else. And 2 pairs of camo Crocs that are without a doubt the most comfortable thing ever. Yeah, I still hate them. Yeah, I used to think they were about the gheyest thing ever. Until I hurt my ankle and needed something with a lot of cushion. I hate open toe stuff, so I tried some Crocs. Most comfortable, convenient, and easy care footwear ever. I get it now…

i wore sneakers, blue t-shirt, and black swimming trunks at work for 7 years.
now i wear used clothing from goodwill because i destroy it quite often and it drives the wife nuts.

95% of the time I wear drawstring shorts & polo shirts, with Skechers slip-on loafer shoes.
Plus a full length Jobst compression stocking on my left leg.
All while maintaining proper hygiene.
Am very comfortable with it.

So I do not care what anyone else thinks about my appearance.
My wife of 58 years hasn't left me yet.

I opted for "boot cut" during that time. I did wind up with one pair of bells. The, won't wear list, includes Croc's and flimsy athletic shorts and pants. Three weeks ago I had to go through radiation for prostate cancer, the technician suggested I wear a pair of athletic shorts, to which I responded, "I wouldn't be caught dead in a pair of those abominations". For the most part the elastic wouldn't support my daily pocket "load out". (wallet, I-Phone, auto knife, car keys, house keys, Galco pocket holster and the Kahr MK 9).

On a serious note, if any here have problems with their feet, and need something will real cushioning to make walking tolerable, there are sandal like slip ons that are far, far better than Crocs. They are Oofos. More expensive than Crocs but infinitely more comforable. Right now I am suffering with a problem with one toe on my foot that is killing me. I see a podiatrist tomorrow, but in the meantime I can walk reasonably well in my Oofos. I just wish they made a model with a slight back that would be safer to wear even outside my home. Here is a link to these sandals, also available on Amazon.

Dr Scholl's' Heavy duty liners. They used to say for heavy individuals now they say for heavy duty work. :D

Years ago, I started using those liners in all of my outdoor shoes. They have helped me with the o so fun heel pain.

Ten yro, got a coveted pair of bellflares to go with my new acme c'boy boots, and after getting caught in my stingray's chain too many times became my first pair of cutoffs. Aint-a-gonna be no 'nother time! "boot-cut" ever since.

I wear cut off jeans while mountain biking when it's not too hot.

In the summer, other than at work, I mostly wear button up shirts with the sleeves and collar lopped off.
