Which Ruger Mark IV should I look at?

Help Support Ruger Forum:

In MY perfect world, Ruger would offer a KP-514 version of the Mark IV 22/45.
I'd likely sprain a digit or two, possibly my wrist?..Reaching for my wallet!

My one and only Mark IV, Target 5.5" barrel in stainless.

⬆️ Wayno, I think you're going to like that one!

I have a couple of the Lipsey's 4" bull barrel MK IIs, from their "Distributor Exclusive" in 2004(?).

They're my favorite MKII models, and I've shot them all, except for the "Great Eight." (Can't be that different than an MK678G, or MK10!?!)

Last year I bought one of the 22/45 LITE pistols, wasn't too enthusiastic about the price, but the gun is seriously light. I bought it to host a suppressor, one of these days I'll file the paperwork to own one.....

Oooohhhh that's purdy!! Tell me more!
This distributor exclusive pistol originally showed itself temporarily as the MkII 4B, a blued MkII Target Model with a 4" bull barrel. Even today, I do not know the justification or rationality of such a pistol. I saw the MkIV version, and immediately commented it will be unobtainable. A member here said they are available, so I took it as a challenge. Long story short, I bought one. And I don't know if I will ever shoot it, as I have other Ruger pistols that would serve the same role. Namely, the KMk512 is a great pistol, stainless, with a slightly longer barrel. And being a heavier stainless steel (not aluminum) frame, the KMk512 is a better gun anyway. The takedown feature of the MkIv pistols is of no interest to me. I read the manual long ago, and the previous models are easily field stripped.

update...
5-days later and I have my pistol. It does look nice.
