I want to get a Mark IV 22lr pistol for plinking, small animal hunting at relatively short distances, and target shooting at 25 yards.

What model do you suggest I take a look at?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Know very little about them myself so I'll be checking this thread out myself as I'll likely pick one up at some point.

ANY of them will fit those needs. Barrel length is your biggest choice so decide if you want ease of carry or possibly better accuracy with issue sights. Most of my Ruger 22 pistols have dot optic since those work better for me as a senior citizen.
I'm a fan of the Ruger 22/45 pistols since that grip angle fits my hand better. All of my 22 pistols provide adequate accuracy to meet the expectations you gave(and much more). One that I tend to brag about has (after adding a 6X scope) given 3 MOA accuracy at 100yards. Just for comparison, guys used to brag about their deer rifles that gave 3 MOA accuracy

I really like the whole MK IV series, but I'd suggest taking a look at the 22/45 Lite versions. They ARE light, but you really don't need mass to compensate for 22LR recoil. They are already threaded for a muzzle device, and the grips are replaceable with most any 1911 style grip. They include a pic rail to you can drop on a red dot if you so desire.

Even if you don't have a suppressor right now, look to one with a threaded barrel just because.. allegedly a suppressed 22 pistol is one of the funnest things you can do with pants on... I got the Tactical, but the top rail came off in favor of a dedicated red dot mount. The under barrel rail is great for mounting a light for the late night critters that need to be taken care of..

Hmm you're kinda stuck with the not so lites.
However there is at least one lite version that is State compliant and not threaded. It just looks threaded.

I want a Mark IV also. The stainless target model has an alloy grip frame. But the Hunter and the SlabSide models both have stainless steel grip frames.

This would make the pistol heavier but also make it balance better.

But gotta agree with @Gator89 and the Anniversary model. It's just a great looking pistol.

I purchased a 10" barrel Mark IV. Over the years I have bought several different new takeoff barrels from the VQ clearance section. Including the 75th Anniversary barrel.
I have also added extra bolts as well.
One frame and seven different barrels
The Mark IV series is a great platform.

My son has a Mark IV 22/45, which is pretty nice.

Mine are all Mark IIs; a Standard with 6" barrel, a Target with 5.5" bull barrel and FastFire III red dot and a Mark II era 22/45 5.5" bull barrel and Williams Fire Sights. All are great plinkers and very accurate.

I, personally, prefer the Mark IIs, but the same models in the Mark IV line should all be good choices.

I bot KMK512 when they first came out. Hav shot several k's rds through it. Wood be one of last pistols I wood get rid of. Aint as nice as Smith 41 but doesnt hav that pricetag either

There's a beauty of a KMK512 in our own Classifieds, for a great price… right now!

NDIH- I'm just trying hard to resist… 😎
