Which rings for a #1?

I have a #1 I recently purchased chambered for .243. I plan to scope it with a leupold 3-9x40 What rings do I need? Highth? It came with a set but are 2 different heights and one is missing the screw and nut for mounting. Thanks for any help.

#4 ,,, and on a No.1 they should be the same heigh.
If you bought it new somewhere they got swapped. It used to be you could call Ruger and they would swap you out for what is needed, but I don't know if that is still the program. Probably worth a call.

FWIW; Most go with 2-7 or 2.5-8, the eye relief is just a tad longer.
When using 3-9 and bigger the use of the extended rings become necessary to get the eye relief to work. YMMV

#3 = .325 /LOW
#4 = .435 /MEDIUM
#5 = .565 /HIGH
#6 = .680 /X-HIGH
